Salvatore Furno, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 62. He was born on July 4, 1963, in Bay Shore, New York, to the late Salvatore Francis and Mary Agnes Furno.
Salvatore's journey began with an insatiable thirst for sales, as he began selling newspapers at a young age which earned him the newspaper carrier of the year award. He earned his bachelor's of science degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in 1985. He dedicated over 45 years of his professional life to H & M Wagner and Sons; he began working for them in 1980 as a driver. He was promoted to sales in 1982, and was the top salesperson for 13 years. He was promoted to director of sales in 1995, and became chief operations officer for the rest of his years there.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Salvatore was a devoted family man. He shared a beautiful life with his wife, Michele P. Furno, to whom he was married for an incredible 41 years. Together, they nurtured a warm and loving household that became a cherished gathering place for family and friends. An avid lover of life, Salvatore found joy in simple pleasures. He was often seen enjoying the serenity of boating, the thrill of golfing, and the warmth of the beach.
In addition to his wife, Salvatore is survived by his loving children, Christina Furno (Nick) and Christopher Furno (Samantha); cherished grandchildren, Shayne, Brantley, Charles, and Claire; and his caring siblings, Joseph Furno (Laraine), MaryAnn Metrinko (Peter), John Furno (Sandra), and Tony Furno (Nancy); and his dear brothers-in-law, Salvatore Riccobene (Tracey) and Michael Riccobene, and sister-in-law, Isabel Johnston (Ray). He will also be missed by many loving nieces and nephews.
