Rose Marie Wood

Rose Marie Wood, 89, passed away peacefully at Spring Arbor Assisted Living on February 11, 2026. She was born in Baltimore to the late Homer and Minnie Reynolds.

For over three decades, Rose dedicated herself to her work as a telephone operator for C&P. Yet, beyond her professional duties, Rose’s true calling blossomed within the walls of the Chesapeake Christian Center. A woman of profound faith, she was not merely a member but a prayer warrior, tirelessly advocating for those in need and sharing the gospel message with anyone willing to listen. Her hands were often seen extending gospel tracts to strangers, her smile a gentle nudge towards hope and light.

In her spare time, Rose found joy in playing board games with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 54 years, Raymond Arthur Wood; son-in-law, Victor Phoebus; grandson, James O. Wood Jr.; and seven siblings.

Rose is survived by her loving children, Debra M. Phoebus, James O. Wood (Sherry) and Timothy R. Wood (Taneeya); nine cherished grandchildren; 15 beloved great-grandchildren; and her two dear brothers.

A visitation in her honor will be held on Monday, February 16th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services P.A., located at 1 2nd Ave S.W., Glen Burnie, MD 21061. Family and friends are invited to the Chesapeake Christian Center, 206 Weston Woods Drive, Pasadena, MD 21122 on Tuesday, February 17th, for a second visitation from 10 – 11 AM, followed by her funeral service at 11:00 AM.

A private, family only interment will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
