Patricia Lee Leyendecker, affectionately known as Pat, departed this world on July 13, 2025, at the age of 83, in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Born on March 16, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was a beloved member of her family and a cherished friend to many.
Pat was the proud mother of Kenneth Slacum (Donna) and Kathy Heffner (Charlie), whose lives were enriched by her unwavering love and support. She brought immense joy to her grandchildren: Alicia, John, Steven, Ashley, Charlie Jr., and Nicole, with whom she shared countless memories and delightful moments. As a grandmother, Pat's heart knew no bounds, and her love continued to bloom with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Rylee, Brynnlee, Colton, Calvin, Bristol, and Elizabeth. Her family was her pride and joy, and she relished every opportunity to spend quality time with them.
In addition to her devotion to family, Pat had an array of interests that brought her happiness. She found solace in crocheting and crafts, pouring her creativity into every stitch and project. Her passion for genealogy allowed her to explore her family's history, connecting the past with the present. A talented pianist, she expressed herself musically, bringing melodies to life in her home. Pat's nurturing spirit made every gathering a celebration, as she truly enjoyed being surrounded by her loved ones.
Pat was preceded in death by her husbands, John Slacum and Jerome "Jerry" Leyendecker; and her parents, William Douglas Taueber and Lillian Marie (nee Fitzpatrick).
Pat is also survived by her half-sisters, Joan Taeuber and Terri Taeuber, who will remember her with love and fondness.
As we celebrate the life of Patricia Lee Leyendecker, we honor her legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
