Patricia Hagan

March 1, 1947 — November 9, 2018

Patricia Cain Hagan, 71, of Gambrills, passed away suddenly on November 9, 2018 at her residence in her husband's arms.

Patricia was born in Huntsville, AL to the late Lee Roy and Fannie Lee (Moore) Reed. She was the youngest of 6 children and grew up in a loving family. The family relocated to Maryland when she was 5 years old. She graduated from Arundel High School in the class of 1964. Soon after, she married Thomas William Cain on June 26, 1965, whom she met at the Glen Burnie church of Christ. Early in their marriage, while Tom was in the Navy, they traveled internationally, which cultivated a life-long love of travel. Together, they had 2 two children. Once she became a mother, she devoted herself fully to raising and nurturing her family.

Patricia was a hard worker and always kept herself busy. While raising her children, she earned a Bachelor's degree from UMBC, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She went on to earn her Master's degree from the University of Maryland, College Park and began a career as a school psychologist with the Anne Arundel County public school system. She was also a member of several professional organizations. She retired from Anne Arundel County Public schools after 29 years of service.

Patricia's marriage of 28 devoted years ended when Tom passed away. Patricia later reconnected with her old friend, Max Hagan, and they married on June 13, 1996. Together, they enjoyed 22 ½ wonderful years of marriage.

From an early age, she attended the Glen Burnie church of Christ with her mother and siblings. She was a faithful member of the church until her death. Her faith in Christ and her love of the church showed in her caring and compassion, often putting the needs of others before her own. She was actively involved in the congregation and taught a Bible study for many years.

Patricia truly had the gift of hospitality. She and Max enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their home. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Thomas; and siblings, Tommy Wayne Reed, Colleen Francis Reed, and Bobbie Jean Adlington.

She leaves to cherish precious memories, her loving husband, Max Hagan; children, Carin Cain Guensch (Greg), and Keith Cain (Bekah); grandchildren, Braxton, and Sydney Guensch; siblings, Kenneth Reed, and Linda White.
