It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Sprankle Brown- Fulkoski, who departed this life peacefully on May 3, 2025, at the age of 92.

Born in Frederick, Maryland, Pat dedicated herself early in life to the care of others, graduating from Mercy Hospital Nursing School in Baltimore, as part of the class of 1953. She made many lifelong friends during her training. She continued her nursing career at Mercy, which spanned many specialties, including Med-Surg, PACU, and she retired as an Infection Control practitioner in the mid 1990’s. She always looked forward to the annual Alumnae luncheon, where she could reunite with many friends and colleagues from the old days. Her sense of adventure took her to Miami with her best friend, Nona, for a year after graduating before she married William G. Brown in 1955.

Once married, she joined a large family from Annapolis (the Brown’s) that she cherished for many years as an “outlaw”. Together, Pat and Bill raised a family and lived in various places including Frankfurt, Germany and Maryland as they built a life full of love while navigating life’s challenges.

After Bill’s passing in 1976, Pat found love again later with Henry E. Fulkoski (affectionately known as "Ski") and they married in 1985. Their years together were filled with joy and shared passions, including skiing and boating. As members of the Bodkin Yacht Club, they built lasting friendships and unforgettable memories on the water. They later traveled annually to Key West in their RV (the “land yacht”), stopping along the way to visit their many friends and family.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Erma Sprankle, both of her husbands, William G. Brown and Henry E. Fulkoski, and her beloved son, Peter J. Brown. As the oldest of seven siblings, she is preceded in death by brothers Thomas W. (Jack) Sprankle and Albert C. (Laddie) Sprankle, Jr. and is survived by Michael J. Sprankle, Peter A. Sprankle, Margaret M. Hersch, and Jeffrey C. Sprankle.

She is also survived by her loving children: Mary B. Agro (Chris), Kathleen B. Perry (Gordon), William G. Brown, Jr., Thomas M. Brown (Deidei), James E. Brown, and Patrick J. Brown (Debbie), along with a large and cherished group of grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought her tremendous pride and joy. The grandchildren are Courtney L. Fletcher (Jared) and Colin M. Brown (Abby), Samuel C. Youngbar (Rose), James E. Brown, Jr. and Megan D. Brown, the twins, Lindsay M. and Nicole C. Agro, Michaela K. Brown and Ethan G. Brown, Zachary P. Brown and Ellie M. Brown. Pat also has 4 great grandchildren, Lawson, Mills and Shepherd Fletcher and Abrielle Neubauer.

In her later years, Pat resided at Brightview Senior Living Facility, where she found peace in quiet moments, especially watching birds from her window, naming movie actors from classic movies and having fun conversations with her “meal mates”.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Mercy Nursing Alumnae Association or the Mercy Health Foundation.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Sunday, May 18th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 19th at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park. All who knew and loved Pat are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life beautifully lived. We hope to see you then.
