Neoma C. Dearing, a beloved matriarch and lifelong resident of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at the age of 97. She was born on September 16, 1928, in Baltimore to Frederick and Catherine Gundling.
Neoma is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Dearing; loving son, Darold Wayne; cherished granddaughter, Tammy Cashen; and her dear brother, Frederick Gundling.
She is survived by her loving daughters, LaDonna Dearing and Lynn Timlin (Wayne Timlin); five cherished grandchildren; eight adored great- grandchildren; and five beloved great-great-grandchildren.
A woman of many interests, Neoma found delight in ballroom dancing, an activity that lit up her spirit, particularly during a joyous trip to Aruba. Her home was always filled with laughter and warmth as she entertained. Neoma embraced her golden years with an adventurous heart, taking bus trips with her group, joyfully named 'just old youth,' spreading her infectious cheer wherever she went. She also enjoyed crocheting, watching the Golden Girls and volunteering at the Glen Burnie carnival, working at the ice cream stand. Neoma’s greatest passion was undoubtedly her family. The moments spent together, whether sharing a meal, enjoying a dance, or simply cherishing each other's company—are treasures that her loved ones will carry in their hearts forever.
