Nancy Jean Wagner, born on September 7, 1947, in Baltimore, to the late Charles Webster and Thelma Florence Smith, passed away at her home on January 15, 2026.
Nancy is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, William David Wagner; loving sons, Christopher and Scott Wagner; cherished grandchildren, Kaylie, Austin, Zackery, Jeffery and Chris; and her adored great-granddaughter, Mila.
Nancy was a proud graduate of Glen Burnie High School and later earned her master’s degree from Towson University, where she honed her passion for teaching. She shared her love for learning as a reading teacher at Park Elementary School in Brooklyn Park, where countless students were inspired by her gentle guidance and nurturing spirit.
Outside the classroom, Nancy wore many hats, including that of a lab rescue adoption coordinator, where she dedicated herself to finding loving homes for these faithful companions.
Nancy had a zest for life; she enjoyed traveling and relished every opportunity to eat crabs. She found great joy in watching tennis, often cheering for her favorite players with the excitement of a true fan.
A visitation to honor her life will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A. in Glen Burnie, MD, on Thursday, Jan. 22nd, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nancy's name are requested to go to Lab Rescue LRCP https://www.lab-rescue.org/
