Monique Fields

May 22, 1933 — January 4, 2026

It was Sunday morning, January 4th, at 3:50 a.m., that our loved Mama, Monique Fields, went to rest with our Lord Jesus. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering faith that touched everyone who knew her.

Monique was born in France to her parents, Gilbert and Marie Roussel. Raised with strong family values, she carried those qualities throughout her life—strength, grace, generosity, and a deep devotion to those she loved. She was married to William Lee Fields, with whom she shared over 30 year and built a life on love and commitment until his passing in 1992

.A dedicated and loving mother, Monique is survived by her six children: Dominique, Patricia, Richard, Bill, Philippe, and Suzy and their spouses. She endured both the joys and the sorrows of motherhood, including the heartbreaking loss of her son Philippe just six months ago. Her love for her children was steadfast, and her strength in the face of hardship was extraordinary.

Monique was also a cherished sister to Jean, Yvette, Nicole, Claude, Christian, Martine, Jacqueline, and Francine. Her connection to her siblings remained strong across years and continents, reflecting her lifelong commitment to family.

Monique retired from her position as jeweler, after 30+ year. She enjoyed traveling and was blessed to see many countries & places in her life, but none more precious than those spent with her family. Throughout her life, Monique faced many struggles and challenges that would have discouraged many. Yet she never allowed hardship to slow her down or diminish her spirit. Her resilience came from her deep and abiding faith. She carried an incredible strength in our Lord God Jesus, trusting Him to guide her, sustain her, and see her through every trial.

One of Monique ’s greatest joys was her large and growing family. She leaves behind more than 25 grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her heart. Her legacy lives on in their lives, their memories, and the love she instilled in them.

Monique ’s life was defined not by material things, but by the kindness she offered, the comfort she gave, and the countless ways she cared for others. Her heart was open, her hands always ready to help, and her presence brought warmth and reassurance to all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family invites those who feel led to send flowers or, if they prefer, to make a memorial gift to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org
