Mildred R. Pomeroy

August 16, 1945 — July 18, 2025

With deep sorrow and loving memories, we announce the passing of Mildred Retha Pomeroy, a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and cherished friend to many. Mildred passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and compassion that touched everyone who knew her.

Mildred was born on August 16, 1945, in Elton, West Virginia, and most recently resided in Brooklyn Park, Maryland. Her life was filled with kindness, devotion, and an unwavering love for her family and community.

She was the beloved wife of the late Marvin Pomeroy, with whom she shared 55 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in February 2017. Their love and dedication to each other were a true testament to enduring partnership and commitment. Mildred was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Melissa (Pomeroy) Roche, and a deeply cherished grandmother to her four grandchildren: Amanda, Harmony, Olivia, and Nathan Roche. Her family was her heart, and she found joy in every moment spent with them. Affectionately known as “Aunt Mildred,” she held a special place in the hearts of more than 20 nieces and nephews. Her home was always open, her hugs always warm, and her support unwavering.

Mildred had a unique gift for making others feel seen, heard, and valued. She was a devout born-again Christian who truly loved the Lord. She read her bible daily and continually prayed for others. She was someone you could count on—for comfort, for wisdom, or simply for a kind word on a hard day. Her gentle spirit and selfless nature made her a light in the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
