Michael Shacka

Mr. Michael Shacka, 81, of Millersville, Maryland passed away on August 31, 2010 at University of Maryland after a battle with lung cancer. Michael was born in Baltimore, MD in 1929 to the late Rita and Michael Sebastiano Shacka. He worked as a self-employed carpenter. Michael owned and operated a Home Improvement Company called AllType Home Improvement. He served as a Corporal in the US Army from 1951-1953. Michael was a founding and devoted member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, which he also helped to build. Michael had a love for cats. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed nature and liked helping others, including strangers. Michael was a very loving, caring and giving person. He was the beloved husband of 56 years of Anne Shacka; devoted father of Michele Keeler and husband David, Edward Shacka and wife Leslie Anne, Maureen Sailors and husband Derek, and John Shacka and wife Sonya; loving grandfather of Nicole Nichols, Ryan Keeler, Matthew Shacka, Emily, Leland and Amelia Sailors, and Ben and Henry Shacka; dear brother of Lucille Wicks, Camilla Jockel, Gloria Johns, Sadie Harris, and Sandra Marino.
