Michael Bender

Michael Bender, 79, of Halethorpe, passed peacefully after a brief illness Sunday, January 22, 2023.

He was born July 15, 1943, and served in the US Navy from 1961 to 1965.

Michael worked for W.R. Grace over 30 years until retirement.

Michael enjoyed cooking, reading, bowling, bingo, shooting pool, and casinos.  He was a loving husband and spoke of his Daughters and Grandsons with great pride.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia (Curtis) Bender; two daughters, Deborah Smith of Columbia, MD, and Denise Seidler of Denton MD; two grandsons, Ryan Dinko-Seidler of Columbia, MD, and Joseph Seidler, Jr. of Ocean City, MD.  Brother Joseph Rihel and wife Clara, loving niece Donna Bayne and husband Pete, and nephew Daniel.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Alex Joseph Bender and his wife, Marion.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 27, from 5-7 PM.

Interment will be private.
