Mary Ann Roden

Mary Ann Geis Roden, of Parkville MD and formerly Glen Burnie MD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 6, 2022. Born on November 11, 1937 in Brooklyn NY, Mary Ann graduated from Towson Catholic High School prior to earning a Registered Nurse degree at Mercy Nursing School. She passionately cared for patients for over 40 years in the operating room at Mercy Medical Center. Mary Ann enjoyed several hobbies including world travel, antique collecting, crossword puzzles, art and reading. She volunteered for Mercy Hospital, Monsignor Slade School, and Meals on Wheels.

Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and is survived by her children, Michele E Roden (partner Ralph E Meiggs), Theresa J Roden Coutu (husband Thomas Coutu), Joseph C Roden (wife Christine Gorman Roden), and Matthew M Roden (wife Jessica Vieira), 9 grandchildren (Elizabeth Spruill, Jay Spruill, Ashley Leuba, Michael Coutu, Maggie Coutu, Ellie Roden, Gregory Roden, Juliet Roden, and Sebastian Roden), and 1 great grandchild (Kayla Lewis).

Predeceased by her parents, Charles A Geis and Mary Rose Bosio Geis, her brother, Charles J Geis, and her husband, Michael E Roden.

Mary Ann enjoyed the love of her extended family including her sisters-in-law Mary Jo Roden Price and Melinda Mulhern Geis and several cousins, nieces and nephews, and well as her lifelong friends, and recently, her devoted caregivers.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Chapel at Oak Crest in Parkville on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 10:30 am.
