Mary Martha Mathias, 88 of Glen Burnie, passed away on July 23, 2024. Mary was born in Baltimore on December 13, 1935, to the late William and Julia Roberts. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Mathias, Sr.; her son, Jack Mathias, Jr. and her brother, William Roberts. Mary is survived by her children, Carolyn Karp, Steve Mathias, Mark Mathias, and Linda Mathias; her grandchildren, Amanda Hermann, Steven Karp and Sabrina Umstead; her sisters, Katherine Hahn, Norma Jean Gillian and Betty Roberts.
Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her fondness for spending time at Disney World brought a twinkle to her eyes that mirrored the magic within her heart. Apart from her Disney adventures, Mary found solace and enjoyment in activities like working on intricate jigsaw puzzles, unleashing her creativity through drawing, immersing herself in classic Western films, and savoring the experience of dining out.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
Mary leaves behind cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come. While she may no longer be present among us physically, her spirit lives on through the love she shared and the lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
