On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Mary Lou Kazmerski of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully with family by her side. She was born in Houskville, Maryland to the late Viola and Ivin Fowble Sr. of Melrose, Maryland. Mary Lou graduated from Manchester High School in 1948 and married Stanley W. Kazmerski in 1959.
They were instructors and active members of the St. Philip Neri Polka Social Club and spent most Saturday nights at Blobs Park dancing with their friends. They would travel to various polka events for weekend dance festivals, especially to the Polka Motion By the Ocean weekend in Ocean City, Maryland. They also enjoyed bull and oyster roasts, dances held at various churches around the Baltimore area, and travel outside the state.
Mary Lou had a wide circle of friends that she kept in touch with all of her life, including attending regular reunions of her high school class. She was an active member of the Ferndale United Methodist Church Women's Society for many years. She was a leader of the local Girl Scouts troop and a member of the TOPS club. After her retirement, she attended the PAL concerts at Chesapeake Performing Arts Center, Music in the Park in Linthicum, concerts in the square in Glen Burnie and Pen Mar Park, taking bus trips and socializing at the Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanley W. Kazmerski; and her siblings, Betty Kelm, Irvin W. Fowble Jr. and Robert Fowble.
Mary Lou is survived by her loving stepson, James F. Kazmerski and his wife, Dale; devoted daughters, Joan V. Fitzhugh and her husband, Jay, Mary Kay Kazmerski and her husband, Boyd, Shirley C. Lang and her husband, Dennis, and Julia M. K. Kyle and her husband, John. She will also be missed by her cherished grandchildren, Thomas, Sarah, Jessica, Kiersten, Kate, Sandra and Stephen; her adored great-grandchild, Sam; longtime companion, John Polsinelli; dear cousin, Mary Wolf; and loving sisters, Shirley Nash and Joan Hanst.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Ferndale United Methodist Church, 117 Ferndale Road, Glen Burnie, MD 21061, on Saturday, Dec. 6th, from 10:00 am till the start of her funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, MD at 11:00 am. If desired, Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to the Hospice of the Chesapeake.
