Marie Veronica Little

January 12, 1938 — November 27, 2025

Nottingham

On Thanksgiving Day, November 27th, 2025 Marie Veronica Little, formerly of Ferndale, Maryland, passed away as she was preparing to visit her new Great Grandson, Jaxson.

Marie was born January 12th 1938 to Joseph and Vera Walsh, and was raised with her beloved sisters Barbara and Dorothy and brother Raymond in Armstead Gardens in Baltimore. In 1960 she married William Henry Little, and they resided in their cherished Ferndale home for over 40 years.

Marie’s true passion in life were her kids and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved babysitting them and would drive hours to cheer them on at a high school baseball, soccer or field hockey tournament. She would also do the same for the children of her many nieces and nephews.

Marie was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens fan. She went to many games over the years and also loved listening to the games on the radio. During football season she was always dressed in Ravens Purple on Sundays!

Professionally, Marie worked in many different school cafeterias throughout Anne Arundel County. She especially loved working at Lindale Junior High in the late 70’s where she made many lifelong friends and was also able to watch over her son during his junior high school years. Her last job was at Glendale Elementary. She loved helping all of the young children get their breakfasts and lunches every day.

One of the most amazing achievements of Marie’s life was that she went back to school in her early 60’s and got her GED. Her entire family was so proud of her.

Marie spent her last 4 months of her life at Brightview Senior Living in Whitemarsh. She was wonderfully cared for by the amazing nurses and aides there. They made her stay feel like home.

Marie spent her life guided by two main themes…….

1st – Treat everyone as you would like to be treated

2nd -Family First

She was a wonderful role model in that regard and her family strives to live up to the example she set.

Marie was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Marie was predeceased by her husband William (Hen) Little. She is the loving mother of Joseph S. Little, Sr and his wife Leslie; Sharon L Vogel; Devoted grandmother of Robert L Vogel, Jason W Vogel, Joseph S Little, Jr and Allison M Little; Great Grandmother of Chloe and Lanie Vogel and Jaxson S. Little. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Veronica Walsh, Barbara Kellam, Dorothy Frankenfield and Raymond Walsh.
