Maralene Kay Bothe

August 25, 1954 — December 3, 2025

Maralene Kay Bothe, 71, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on December 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. Born in Annapolis, Maryland, she was one of nine children born to the late Margaret C. and George J. Bussey Sr.

Maralene dedicated over 30 years of her life as a Finance Manager for Safeway. Before joining Safeway, she lent her skills at Sysco.

As a devoted member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Maralene fostered her love for the church through active involvement in Vacation Bible School and as a dedicated Sunday School teacher. She touched the lives of many young people, instilling in them the same values and love for faith that guided her own life.

In her personal life, Maralene found joy in crafting, gardening, and cooking. However, her greatest joy came from her grandchildren—AJ Marshall, Luke Noratel, Izabelle Marshall, Mason Marshall, Madison Marshall, Shannon Noratel, and Joshua Noratel. She treasured every moment spent with them, delighting in their laughter, exploring the world of shopping, and nurturing their dreams. With a great-granddaughter on the way, her legacy of love will continue to flourish in her family.

Maralene is also survived by her beloved husband of over 30 years, Robert "Bob" Bothe; devoted daughter, Jessica Noratel, and her loving niece, Heather Most. She will also be missed by her siblings, Nancy Bower, Earl Bussey, Francis Bussey, and Minnie McElwee; and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Daralene Most; and her brothers, Buddy, Jimmy and Donnie Bussey.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Maralene’s beautiful life during visitation at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services PA in Glen Burnie, MD, on Friday, December 19th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
