Madeline G. Goss, 87, of Glen Burnie, passed away at Anne Arundel Medical Center on September 26, 2023. She was born in Baltimore to the late Daniel Anthony and Madeline Catherine DeSalvo. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed shopping (especially JTV and “Amacon”), eating her favorite foods- Dunkin Donuts, Chick-Fil-A milk shakes, Friendly’s ice cream and sugar cookies, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, John C. Goss Sr.; and her siblings, Mary DeSalvo and Joseph J. Fell.
Madeline aka Nan, Nanny G & G… is survived by her devoted children, John C. Goss Jr., Patricia A. Collins (Jim), Sherry E. Kennell (Rick), Mary S. Zimmerman (Scott) and Anthony M. Goss; cherished grandchildren, Susan Parker (Mike), Jimmy Collins IV (Omm), Maggi Zimmerman, Scotty Zimmerman (Faith), Ricky Kennell III (Alex) and Mikey Kennell (Noelle); loving great-grandchildren, Cassandra Parker, Micaylyn Parker, Jimmy Collins V, Jaison Collins, Sylvia Kennell, Teddy Kennell and Hope Zimmerman. She will also be missed by her dear siblings, Charles DeSalvo, George Fell, Mary Saclolo, John Fell, Charles Fell, Edward Fell and James Fell, and many loving nieces, nephews and their families.
Madeline was a telephone operator with C&P then AT&T for approximately 35 years then worked at North Arundel Hospital for 25 years until she retired at 80!! She was very generous and always supported the needy and less fortunate. Her faith has always kept her strong and her unbeatable will gave her a happy long life. She made everyone she talked to feel special and important. She always listened and cared deeply. Her bright light touched everyone who knew her.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Thursday, Oct. 5th, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM. A Catholic service will be celebrated on Friday, 11:30 AM, at Christ the King Catholic Church (formerly Holy Trinity). Interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or by visiting www.stjude.org.
