L. Marie German

July 29, 1937 — August 23, 2025

Liuna Marie German, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Born on July 29, 1937, in Covington, Virginia, Marie filled her years with love, laughter, and a spirit that brightened the lives of all who knew her.

Marie dedicated many of her working years as a receptionist at Churchill Distributors, in Pasadena. Her warm smile and caring nature made her an integral part of the workplace community, where she made lasting friendships and created a welcoming environment for all who walked through the doors.

Outside of her career, Marie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for nature, often captivated by the beauty of hummingbirds that frequented her birdfeeders. Her passion for crafts manifested in her fondness for crocheting and sewing, showcasing her creativity and nurturing spirit. Marie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and cherished moments at Ocean City, shopping excursions, and exciting days at the casino. Whether it was playing Bonko or bingo, her competitive nature always brought a touch of fun to gatherings.

Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Howard E. German, who stood by her through every chapter of their life together. Her loving daughters, Sandra German and her husband Rick Anderson, and Yvonne Hardesty and her husband Mark, along with her son, Butch German and his wife Lisa, carry on her legacy of love. Marie's grandchildren Jocelyn, Joshua, Amber, Lauren, Morgan, Heather, Jake and Leah hold treasured memories of their time with her, while her great-grandchildren Bryce, Austin, Addison, Oakley, Easton, Sawyer, Maddie, Jagger, Crew, Charlie, Zane, Roman, Jett and Ripley represent the continuation of her spirit within the family. Marie is also survived by her brothers David, Gary, and Boyd, who will remember her resilience and kindness.

Though Marie's son, Craig Lynwood German, and siblings, Judy and Pete, have predeceased her, their memories remain cherished in the hearts of those who loved her.

Marie’s life will be celebrated with a visitation on August 28, 2025, at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services in Glen Burnie from 2 PM to 4 PM and again from 6 PM to 8 PM. A heartfelt Celebration of Life will take place the following day, beginning at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel, honoring a woman whose love and spirit have touched so many.

As we remember L. Marie German, we celebrate her legacy of warmth, dedication, and unconditional love, which will forever be etched in our hearts.
