Linda C. Unklesbee

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Linda Cannon Unklesbee, who departed this life on July 31, 2025, in her hometown of Glen Burnie, Maryland, succumbing to Alzheimer’s Disease at the age of 85. 

She was powerfully and lovingly devoted to her family, always working and planning for their well-being and care. She is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Jerry Unklesbee; her beloved children, Tod Long and his wife, Connie; Jonathan Long, and Kristen Abbey and her husband, Marc; cherished grandchildren, Bethanny, Kerry, Caitlin, Nicholas, Owen, and Thomas; and adored great-grandchildren, Aidan, Cameron, and Mason. 

She worked for almost 30 years for the Anne Arundel County Board of Education as a dedicated and caring elementary school teacher and principal. Her students were precious to her, and she cherished her memories of them and her years as an educator. She was always full of pride, hope, and concern for them. All who knew her will remember her strength, her practical optimism, and her loving way. She was a force of positivity and caring. It is hard for us to convey how deeply she will be missed. 

A time and place for a celebration of life will be announced in the near future.
