Kathleen Marie Chatham

May 5, 1983 — May 22, 2025

Kathleen Marie Chatham, born on May 5, 1983, in Baltimore, Maryland, was a vibrant soul whose passionate presence touched the lives of everyone she met.

A proud graduate of Old Mill High School in 2001, Kathleen continued her journey of education at Strayer University, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree, showing her unwavering commitment to learning and personal growth.  Kathleen dedicated her career to the field of accounting, where her meticulous nature shone brightly.  But beyond her professional endeavors, it was her warm spirit and boundless love for music that truly defined her essence.  She possessed an incredible talent, being able to play any instrument she picked up, turning every gathering into a melodic celebration.

Whether she was cheering passionately for the Washington Capitals or simply devoting time to her beloved pets, Kathleen exemplified a life rich with interests and joy.  Her family and friends meant the world to her.  Kathleen's profound love is echoed in the lives of her cherished daughters, Zoey and Melody Chatham; her loving mother, Irene Preville; and her beloved father, Robert Preville.  She was a treasured sister to Laura Sheriff and Stephanie Swann, as well as the dear step-daughter to Romaine Preville.  Though she faced the heartbreak of losing her sister Bobbie, she carried her memory with her always.  Her best friend and father to their children, Tim Chatham, stood by her side in countless adventures, witnessing the unwavering love she showed to those around her.

The tapestry of her life was further enriched by her step-siblings—Dena Lentz, Sunny Lentz, Sheila Charlotte, and Christian Hoffman—along with her faithful companion, Sally.  Kathleen's sudden passing on May 22, 2025, in Edgemere, Maryland, has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of many.  She will be lovingly remembered for her contagious laughter, her unwavering support, and the immeasurable love she shared with her fifteen nieces and nephews.  Those who were lucky enough to know her will forever carry her spirit, as she imparted on them the importance of family, friendship, and following one’s passions.

Visitation services to celebrate her remarkable life will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., located at 1 2nd Ave S.W., Glen Burnie, MD 21061.  Friends and family can pay their respects on May 28, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, as we gather to honor an extraordinary person whose light will continue to shine brightly in our memories and hearts.
