Katherine May Carter, 83 of Brooklyn, Maryland was born on September 15, 1942, in Baltimore, MD, and passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Glen Burnie, MD. Katherine was a devoted wife, sister, and aunt, remembered for her warmth and generosity. For 59 wonderful years, she was the beloved wife of Thomas S. Carter, who precedes her in death.

Katherine dedicated many years of her professional life to 1st National Bank, where she made lasting connections and contributed significantly to her community. Beyond her career, Katherine was deeply involved in various community activities. She served as a Sunday School teacher at her church, nurturing young minds and instilling in them the values she cherished. Additionally, she took on the role of Girl Scout Leader for many years, guiding young girls with her wisdom and kindness. She was also active in the Meals-on-Wheels program, always assisting those in need.

Her devotion extended well beyond her volunteer work. Katherine was a proud lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Brooklyn (Streetlite Christian Fellowship Church), where her faith was a cornerstone of her life.

Outside of her community commitments, Katherine enjoyed several hobbies that brought her joy. She loved bowling, shopping, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family. These moments were cherished by all who knew her, showcasing her passion for creating lasting memories with loved ones.

Katherine is survived by her dear brother, William "Bill" Tarbutton, of Deland, FL, along with many loving nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly. Her legacy is one of love, commitment, and passionate service to others.

Visitation services will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services PA, located at 1 2nd Ave SW, Glen Burnie, MD 21061, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A funeral service will follow immediately at the same location, commencing at 4:00 PM. Inurnment will be at Baltimore National Cemetery with her husband, Thomas.

Katherine May Carter leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, and community service that will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
