Joanne Elizabeth King

Joanne Elizabeth King, affectionately known as Josie, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in Washington, D.C. to the late Coverly and Ruth Wine, Jo was a devoted wife, cherished family member, and caring friend whose love and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her.

Jo found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life—crocheting, knitting, and cross-stitching came naturally to her, creating beautiful handmade treasures that were gifted to loved ones. She had an affinity for cooking, making each meal a special occasion filled with laughter and connection.

One of Jo's greatest joys was spending time by the water; going to the beach was her favorite escape, where she would find peace and inspiration. She also enjoyed the serenity of camping and the thrill of fishing.

Jo is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Gene; caring aunt, Barbara Wine; dear cousins, Theresa Phillips, Chuck Wine and Roger Wine; loving sisters-in-law, Kathy and Peggy King; and beloved nieces and nephews, Manuel King, John King, Cindy Maguire and Debbie Canterbury. She will also be missed by her adored companion, Sophie.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jo's life during visitation on Friday, September 19th, from 2 - 4 and again from 6 - 8 PM, at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, PA. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, at 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
