Joan Fitzhugh

Joan Stewart Fitzhugh, 84, of Crofton, passed away at her home on August 28, 2022. She was born in Pleasantville, NJ to the late James and Anna Mae Myers. She retired from AT&T after many years of service. She enjoyed fashion, watching soap operas and was an avid animal lover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Jane Ritter and Helen Simpson.

Joan is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Edward; loving children, Burt DeMill and his wife, Kathleen, Pamela Rahnama and her husband, Cameron; cherished grandchildren, Kayla Kupfer and her husband, Shaun, Mandy Beghtol and her fiancée, John Pountnay and Connor DeMill; beloved great-grandchildren, Mollie and Mackenzie Kupfer, Sophia Beghtol and John Pountnay Jr.; and her dear sister, Katherine Sanders.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Thursday, Sept. 1st, from 4 - 7 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
