James Webster Knipple

James Webster Knipple, 74, of Glen Burnie, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on December 9, 2023. He was born in Baltimore to the late Charles and Helen (nee Nash) Knipple. He graduated from Southern High School, class of 1969 and Lincoln Tech Trade School, class of 1979. He served his country honorably as a specialist in the Army from 1970-1976. James was employed as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic, retiring after 42 years of service. After retirement, he went on to work as a crossing guard for four years with Anne Arundel County. He enjoyed hunting, working on antique cars, going to car shows, spending time with his family, especially doting on his grandchildren. He was an avid animal lover and fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Luke Foote.

James is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Jacqueline Knipple (nee Jacobs); loving children, James E. Knipple and his wife, Stacy, Kimberly Foote and her husband, Jonathan; cherished grandchildren, James E. Knipple Jr., Joshua Knipple, Savannah Knipple, Rachel Foote, Jacob Foote and Matthew Foote; his dear siblings, Clare Blacksten, Lucinda McFillin, Mary Elizabeth Kerbe and Arthur Knipple; and  his dear brothers-in-law, John E. Jacobs and Roger W. Jacobs. He will also be missed by many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, Glen Burnie, from 2 – 5 PM on Sunday, Dec. 17th. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Maryland Therapeutic Riding, 1141 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032 or by visiting http://www.horsesthatheal.org or to the American Diabetes Association, http://www.diabetes.org
