Hedwig Taylor, passed away on July 29, 2025, at the remarkable age of 96. She was born on February 24, 1929, in Vienna, Austria, to the late Johann and Josefa Biswanger.
Throughout her life, Hedwig was a devoted Catholic whose faith guided her actions and decisions. She was deeply cherished not only for her beliefs but also for the warmth she shared with everyone around her. A woman of great culinary talent, Hedwig could often be found in her kitchen sharing her passion for cooking with family and friends, creating nourishing meals.
Hedwig had a unique charm that extended beyond her culinary skills. Known for her strong-willed nature and exceptional sewing abilities, she loved to craft. Her passion for gardening brought color and vibrancy not just to her home but to the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. Despite her many talents, Hedwig maintained a delightful simplicity that spoke to her “old school” values. She appreciated the little things in life, often expressing her fondness for elephants, creatures she admired for their gentle strength and familial bonds.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard K. Taylor; loving son, David Taylor; and dear grandson, Eric Taylor.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Evelyn Trone; cherished grandchildren, Roger Pickett, Lorne, Jennifer Pickett and Ryan Trone; her adored great-granddaughter, Kira Stine; and her siblings, Dante Inga and Vienna.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services PA, on Saturday, August 9th, from 12 - 2 PM, with a funeral service immediately following at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Maryland Veterans Cemetery will be held at a later date.
