Hector A. Zayas

Hector A. Zayas, 83 of Millsboro, Delaware and Cape Canaveral, Florida and formerly of Glen Burnie passed away on October 27, 2023 in Delaware. Hector was born on February 7, 1940 in Cayey, Puerto Rico to the late Modesto and Adela Zayas. He retired from NASA as an engineer and a Flight Operations Manager. He enjoyed playing golf, string art and was an avid soccer fan.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Zayas; his children, Dennis Burger, Mary Windrider, Christina Zayas and Alex Zayas (Ashley); his brother, Jose “Pepo” Zayas (Myrna) and his 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Modesto Angel “Imbo” Zayas.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2^nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Monday, Nov. 6^th from 11-1 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Nov. 6th at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
