In Loving Memory of Guadalupe de Leon Marquez.

Guadalupe passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, in Columbia, Maryland, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 14, 1939, in Bustos, Bulacan, Philippines, she built a life defined by compassion, strength and deep faith.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Guadalupe is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Leopoldo Marquez; son, James (and his former wife, Nancy), and their child, Jacob and son; John (Heather), and their children, Ella and Lucas. She is also lovingly remembered by her four siblings, Lori Cruz, Ato de Leon, Josie Galvez, and Porfirio de Leon, her church family, and many in the Filipino community she held so dear.

Guadalupe was a kind and nurturing soul whose life was rooted in service to both her family and to others. As a nurse, she offered care and comfort with grace and dedication. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and giving to others.

Her faith was her foundation, and she lived each day with love and gratitude. Her impact of kindness will forever live on.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services P.A. 1 2nd Avenue, S.W. (at Crain Highway) Glen Burnie, MD 21061, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and then again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 1 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, 7436 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd, Glen Burnie, MD 21061 to honor and celebrate Guadalupe’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Guadalupe’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
