George L. Reed

George Lawrence Reed, 105, of Brooklyn Park, passed away on October 29, 2022, at Morningside House of Friendship in Hanover.  He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on March 14, 1917, to the late Bridget and Charles Reed.  George worked at his family’s produce stand at Cross Street Market at a young age, and then went on to serve his country proudly as a Private First Class in the Army during World War II.  He then became a chauffeur for the executives at Baltimore Gas & Electric.  George enjoyed woodworking and maintaining his yard.

In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his devoted wife of 75 years, Rose M. Reed; his cherished son, John L. Reed; his beloved daughter-in-law, Nancy Reed; his loving granddaughter, Cindy Tippett and her husband, Brian; his great-grandchildren, Ben & Ellie; and dear friend, Mark Hranicka.

A Celebration of Life graveside service for George will be held on Thursday, November 3rd, at 10 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Brooklyn Park.
