George Linton

On November 14, 2005, George E. "Maverick" Linton passed away. George will be missed by many people. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Geraldine "Jackie" Linton; his children, Doris Ritz, Sharon Baumgardner and Terri Price; his brother, Francis Caroll "Butch" Linton ; his grandchildren, Laurne Detorie, Jeffery Price, Jr., Kristen Ritz, Brittany Price, Jessica Baumgardner and Courtney Price; and his great-grandchild, Sophia Detorie. George was predeceased by his son, George E. Linton, Jr.; his brother, James Edward Linton, Jr.; his sister, Naomi Metzger; his parents James E. Linton, Sr. and Henrietta M. Linton; and his two stillborn sons. George was a gas construction foreman for 30 years at BGE. He retired in 1987. He was a member of the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He served in both Germany and in England. George was a member of the South Baltimore Pigeon Racing Organization. He also enjoyed many hobbies, which included boxing, horse racing and riding, stock cars, rodeo, fishing, crabbing, and boating. He loved spending time with his family.
