Franklin "Butch" Roosevelt Madkins

September 1, 1945 — June 7, 2025

Glen Burnie

Frank R. Madkins  of Glen Burnie, MD was born on September 1st, 1945, and peacefully passed away on June 7th, 2025, at the age of 79. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary, his partner of 42 years of marriage, and his son Clinton, 38. Frank lived a life filled with simple pleasures and deep love. He found joy in the purr of a well-tuned engine and the endless possibilities of science fiction stories that transported him to distant worlds. Those who knew him well will remember his appreciation for life's finer comforts—a perfectly prepared steak sub paired with a rich chocolate shake, enjoyed without hurry or pretense. But beyond these personal delights, Frank's greatest legacy lies in the love he shared. He was a devoted husband who understood that marriage is built on countless small acts of care and commitment. As a father, he was both steady and nurturing, providing the kind of guidance and support that helps shape who we become. Frank also cherished the bond he had with his brother Marty, who sadly passed away two years ago—a loss that touched him deeply but never diminished his capacity for love. Frank had a special tenderness for animals, particularly dogs, who seemed to sense his gentle spirit. His compassion extended naturally to all creatures, reflecting the kind of person he was at heart—someone who noticed and cared for those around him, whether they walked on two legs or four. In a world that often moves too fast, Frank reminded us to slow down and appreciate the things that truly matter: family, loyalty, and finding wonder in both the everyday and the extraordinary. His memory will live on in the love he gave, the kindness he showed, and the example he set for all of us. Rest in peace, Frank. You were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

All Services and Inurnment will be held privately at a later date. Arrangements were handled by the Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, Glen Burnie, MD.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Butch's name to the Maryland S.P.C.A.
