Frances J. Shiffrin

Frances Jeanette Shiffrin “Fran”, 75, of Severn, passed away on May 11, 2022.  She was born in Raleigh, West Virginia, on January 15, 1947, to the late Frances and Jessee Smith.  Fran earned her Bachelor’s degree from UMBC and was a teacher at Park Elementary in Brooklyn Park for 10 years before her sons were born.  She was a member of the Community Church of God in Glen Burnie and was President of the Women of the Church of God there.  She enjoyed exercising, gardening, creating stained glass, crocheting, cooking, baking, and traveling – especially cruising.  Fran was an excellent painter.  She hand-painted greeting cards, as well as created personalized hand-painted alphabet books for her eight grandchildren.

Fran is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, James Henry Shiffrin; her beloved sons, Eli Shiffrin, John (Shannon) Shiffrin, and Mark (Jennifer) Shiffrin; and her cherished grandchildren, Whittley, Kaiden, Skye, Andrew, Kristin, Jacob, Hannah, and Joshua.
