Frances Garber

Frances Garber, 85, of Glen Burnie, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023. She was born on December 7, 1937, in Baltimore, to the late Chapman and Jesse Mae Clayton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 63 years, Allen Elwood Garber; her loving son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Trish Garber and her brother, Christopher Clayton. Fran enjoyed all types of crafting, ceramics, baking and making flower arrangements for weddings, but what gave her the most joy was time spent making memories with her family. From girl’s trips to Ocean City and Lancaster, birthday celebrations, pool parties, cookouts, and the Garber family apple butter tradition, everything became an event for the books, the photobooks that is. Fran was a woman of deep faith. She knew early on as a child that Jesus loved her and in living that truth throughout her life, created a lasting legacy of faith for her family. She was active in her church and volunteered to teach Sunday School and Bible studies; helped in VBS and rocked babies in the nursery.

Fran is survived by her loving daughters, Cindy (Mike) Spurlin and Melody (Mark) Waybright; and her sister Joanne Lucarelli. She was affectionately known as ‘Mim’ by her most cherished grandchildren, Courtney, Jason, Heather, Mark Jr., Matthew, Scott and Zachary, their spouses and 12 beautiful great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy), on Friday, April 14th, from 2 – 4 and 6 -8 PM.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 15th, at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel.  Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
