Evelyn Jean Szczeszek

Evelyn Jean Szczeszek, 92, of Linthicum, passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on January 20, 2024. She was born in Baltimore to the late Edward George and Eva Sautter. She retired from B G & E after 32 years of service and was a longtime member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Baltimore. She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, especially Linthicum Lunchateria and watching sports. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John; and her siblings, George Sautter, Katherine Sautter, Marie Zeller, Elaine Lembach, Laverne Gemmell and James Sautter.

Evelyn is survived by her devoted children, Steven Szczeszek and his wife, JoAnn, Gregory Szczeszek and his wife, Darlene, Diane Summers and her husband, Todd; cherished grandchildren, Steven Szczeszek Jr. and his wife, Tina, Greg Szczeszek Jr., Jeffrey Szczeszek, Matthew Szczeszek and his wife, Kim, Lindsey Nowak and her husband, Eric, Kristen Prophet and her husband, Mike, John Summers and his wife, Kelsey; adored great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mason, Lainey, Charlotte, Ella and Liam; and her loving siblings, Edward Sautter and Janice Howard. She will also be missed by many loving nieces and nephews. 

 Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, Glen Burnie, on Wednesday, Jan. 24^th, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, 11 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation by visiting www.believeintomorrow.org
