Dorothy B. Lane

Dorothy B. Lane passed away at Harbor Hospital on December 11, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on February 20, 1932, in the coal mining town of Jewell Ridge, Virginia, Dorothy was one of twelve children born to the late Grant and India Reedy. She spent hours nurturing her garden and had a love for animals. Yet, nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family, especially all her adored grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph T. Lane Jr.; son, James Lane; and her two sisters and her nine brothers.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, John Lane, Mary Jett and her husband, Terry; and cherished grandchildren, Brent Lane (Lindsay), Craig Lane (Chantelle), Shane Lane, Crystal Wise (Chris) and Cody Lane. She will also be missed by her seven adored great-grandchildren and her four beloved great-great-grandchildren.

A time for friends and family to visit in remembrance of Dorothy will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services PA in Glen Burnie on Tuesday, December 16th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating her life will follow the next day, Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
