Doris Elizabeth Heinl

July 10, 1936 — June 22, 2025

Glen Burnie

On Sunday, June 22, 2025, Doris Elizabeth Heinl of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully with family by her side.  Doris was born in Baltimore, MD and was the oldest child of a family of five.  She poured her heart into everything including cooking for all of the family, specially for her grand and great-grandchildren and enjoyed going camping.  Doris' joy was her family, for years she shared that love by making "Monday Night Dinners" where the entire family would gather to share stories, laugh, cry and debate who was right.  Her love for her family was her life and her very purpose.  Above all, her legacy is and always will be the unconditional, unjudgemental love and support she provided to each of her children and her beloved Ernie.  Family was her greatest treasure; her love for family was boundless, especially for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  May she rest now in God's Eternal Peace.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth and Raymond Hyson Doris she was preceded in death by her loving husband Ernest O. Heinl, Sr. her beloved daughter, Rosemarie Grogan and siblings Ray and "Eddie" Hyson.  She was married to Ernest for almost 70 wonderful years of marriage and would have celebrated their anniversary on July 23rd.  Together, they nurtured a beautiful family that includes their children, Ernest O. Heinl Jr. (Cheryl Bertram), Steven Heinl (Barbara Mohr) and Patti Heinl Crowe (Mark), her sister Elsie Haber and brother Harry Hyson.  Her legacy will live on through her cherished grandchildren, Mandi (Ryan McMullen), Christopher (Sara Grogan), Steven (Mandee Heinl), Coty (Tyler Smootz), Matthew Heinl (Dana Miller), Taylor Heinl, Lisamarie (Steven Ricketts) and Kelli (Aaron Walker).  She will also be missed by her beloved great-grandchildren, Greta and Magnus McMullen, Tanner, Gabe, Dax and Janie Grogan, Sam and Olivia Heinl, Oaklee Smootz, Cruz and Saylor Ricketts and Ezra Otto Walker and many other loving family and friends.
