Dolores Rosemarie Schrader, 93 of Glen Burnie passed away on September 25, 2024 in Annapolis, MD leaving behind a legacy of dedication and love that will be cherished by many. Dolores was born on July 14, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Leonard Rossi and Marguerite Cocca Belancio. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Donald R. Schrader, Sr.; her stillborn son, Joseph Schrader; her great-grandson, Brenden Agorilla; her brother, Richard Belancio and her dear companion, Wayne Pettie.
Dolores is survived by her devoted children, Rosemarie F. Galster (Richard Jr.), Donald R. Schrader, Jr. (Peggy), Suzanne M. Lewis (Jeff) and Anne Marie Schene (Jack); her loving grandchildren, Rick Galster (Shelly), Rob Galster (Cristy), Ryan Galster (Vicky), Jennifer Moulding (Kyle), Christopher Schrader (Jenelle), Matt Lewis (Ashley), Mark Lewis (Danielle), Katie Schweitzer (Stephen), Lauren Schene and Christina DuBey (David); her dear great-grandchildren, Logan Moulding, Jacob Lewis, Eli Schrader, Koralyn Galster, Blake Lewis, Emmy Schrader, Ensley Schrader, Camden Galster, Joel DuBey and Bennett Lewis; and her siblings, Cecelia Skalish and Edward Belancio. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving family members.
Dolores served honorably as a Federal Police Officer for the Department of Defense, completing an impressive 20 years of service before retiring. She also enjoyed a fulfilling career as an Avon Representative for 26 years, sharing both products and her radiant spirit with her community. Dolores has been an original member and dedicated parishioner of St. Philip Neri Church since its inception in 1965. As a loyal and active member of the church, she dedicated her time as a Bible Study Growth Group leader and in the Healing Prayer Ministry. Beyond her professional achievements, Dolores was known for her culinary talents, delighting family and friends alike with her generous Italian dinners. She embraced the joy of playing cards and Bingo, often brightening gatherings with laughter and her competitive spirit. An avid bowler, Dolores found great pleasure in the sport and spent countless hours enjoying it with friends. Her love for gardening brought her joy, as she nurtured her plants and created beautiful spaces. Additionally, her cherished moments at her cottage in Cape May, NJ, were filled with memories that her loved ones will hold dear.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Sunday, October 6th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, on Monday, October 7th at 10 AM. Interment to follow at MD Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
