Cornelia Heptinstall

October 29, 1922 — July 27, 2005

Cornelia Anderson Heptinstall, 82, entered into Eternal Life on July 27, 2005, at her home after a long illness with her family at her bedside. She is the daughter of the late J. Moler Anderson and Grace Carrick Anderson and formerly of Linthicum Heights. She was born in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Heptinstall is a retired Anne Arundel County Elementary School Principal. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Towson State College and her Master's Degree in School Administration from the University of Maryland. She was a school administrator in Anne Arundel County Public Schools for more than 20 years. She served as Principal of Severn Elementary School, Millersville Elementary School, Ferndale Elementary School and was the first Principal of Overlook Elementary School in Linthicum and served as the first Principal of Fort Smallwood Elementary School in Pasadena. She served on many workshop and in-service committees and activities during these years for the school system. She is a member of the Anne Arundel Retired Teachers Association where she served on committees, Maryland Retired Teachers Association and the National Education Association. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Marvin Heptinstall; her beloved daughter Janet Heptinstall Manning and her husband Keith; and one loving grandson Eric Manning. She is predeceased by her sister Dorothy Anderson Blue and her brothers Rollin M. Anderson and Bruner R. Anderson. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She has been a member of the Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church for more than 70 years. Mrs. Heptinstall enjoyed Oriole games and was also an avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandson. She was the member of the family that everyone seemed to go to for advice or helpful hints.
