Ciara Yvette Diaz, 28, of Glen Burnie, MD, and formerly of Mount Vernon, NY, passed away on Monday, June 12th, 2023, after a nine-month battle with Krukenberg Cancer.

Ciara was born on the 9th day of February 1995 to Raul Diaz and Yvette Luciano in Bronx, New York. After Ciara graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 2013, she attended Anne Arundel Community College. In 2017, Ciara went on to meet Moises Acosta where they grew inseparably in love. They went on to marry September 30th, 2022. They adopted four fur babies: Zoey, Luna, Zeke and Leo.

Ciara had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and loved to hike, especially around upstate New York. Once a former Girl Scout troop committee member, she supported her younger sister Isabella and her troop. Always curious and creative, she taught herself how to crochet and loved DIY projects of all kinds. She loved to read and explore new music genres, as well as True Crime podcasts and documentaries. She had a passion for cooking and sharing good food with people she loved. Ciara converted to a Baltimore Orioles fan, to the chagrin of her NY Yankees loving father.

Ciara was predeceased by her grandfathers, Marcelino Luciano and Manuel Diaz; grandmother, Luisa Santiago Soto; and cousin, Luis Diaz Jr. She is survived by her husband, Moises Acosta; father, Raul Diaz; mother, Yvette Luciano; sister, Isabella Diaz and grandmother, Marie Luciano. She is also survived by eight aunts, four uncles, sixteen cousins, one niece, her two best friends and many others whose lives she touched.

Maternal Family: Aunt Elizabeth Luciano and children Briana Dsouza, (Kyle Dsouza by marriage), Kiana Lopez and niece Selena Dsouza.  Aunts Lissette Luciano and Niamh Corcoran and son Andrew Jacobs. Aunt and uncle Lynette Claudio and Alexander Claudio and children Nicole Rodriguez (Jonathan Rodriguez by marriage), Emily Claudio and Alexander Claudio Jr. Raul Mateo and Destiny Mateo, Marcelino Luciano Jr., Noah Luciano, Amyalee Luciano, Leeland Luciano.

Paternal Family: Uncle and aunt Luis Diaz and Ladis Serrano and son Xavier Diaz, Aunt Omeida Diaz and children Mario Enriquez Schelmetty and Nathaly Schelmetty and uncle Angel Torres. Uncle Jose Diaz and son Michael Diaz and Uncle Geraldo Diaz.

In laws: Adalgisa and Arturo Volquez, Pedro Acosta and Rocio Espejo and children Emmanuel Acosta and Ezequiel Acosta. Noel Acosta, Darkis Volquez and daughter Genevieve Volquez.

Best friends Elizabeth Bobadilla and Reesa Smart.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 17th, from 1 - 3 PM, at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, Glen Burnie. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 3 PM in the funeral home chapel.
