Carl Ray Goodman, Jr.

June 28, 1943 — April 22, 2024

Carl Ray Goodman, Jr., a dedicated printer with the Baltimore Sun for 40 years, passed away on April 22, 2024, at the Gilchrist Center in Columbia. He was born on June 28, 1943, in Annapolis, Maryland. Throughout his life, Carl found joy in coaching softball for the Brooklyn Park Youth Association and took immense pride in this accomplishment.  His dedication to his work and community touched the lives of many.
 
Carl will be lovingly remembered by his surviving family: devoted wife, Sheila J. Goodman; beloved children, Carl Goodman III, Richard G. Goodman, Steven Earl Goodman, and Sherry Lyn Goodman-Leverett (Marcus); cherished grandchildren, Jordan Marie Leverett, Stephanie Lynn Goodman, Danielle Krisalyn Goodman, Alex Goodman, Michael William Leverett (Bianca), and Grace A. Goodman; loving great-granddaughter, Kara Nicole Leverett; dear siblings, William Goodman, Albert Lamb, Diana Cantler, Joyce Little, Helen Housley, Keith Lamb, Johnny Lamb, Dixie Norgren, Sandra Rollins, Priscilla Goodman; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family & friends.
 
He is now reunited with his parents, Mildred and Carl Goodman Sr., and his brother, Ralph Lewis, who have gone before him.
 
Known for his love of music, reading, watching the news, and spending time with his grandchildren; Carl's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
 
The services to celebrate Carl's life will take place on April 26th and 27th at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services PA in Glen Burnie for visitation and at Calvary Baptist Church for a Celebration of Life event. In loving memory of Carl Ray Goodman Jr., may he rest in peace knowing he made a lasting impact on those around him.
