Bonita Ann Lyons

August 12, 1947 — February 18, 2026

Bonita Ann Lyons, affectionately known as Bonnie, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, in Ellicott City, Maryland.  Born on August 12, 1947, in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Bonnie brought joy and light to all those around her throughout her 78 years of life.

For many years, she dedicated herself to her work as a bank teller at Mercantile Bank & Trust in Linthicum, where her warm smile and kind demeanor made her a beloved figure among both customers and colleagues.  Bonnie’s genuine compassion for others was evident in everything she did, and she often went above and beyond to help those in her community.

Beyond her professional life, Bonnie embraced her hobbies with great passion. She found solace in cruising, delighting in the tranquil waters and breathtaking views.  Tuesdays were sacred for Bonnie, as she would enthusiastically partake in bingo games in Ferndale, always with hope in her heart and excitement in her spirit.  She cherished sunny days spent on the beach, particularly in the Outer Banks, North Carolina, where the waves and warmth brought her peace.  Bonnie also had a love for jigsaw puzzles, relishing the challenge of putting together intricate designs, often with family and friends by her side.

Bonnie leaves behind her loving children, A.J. (Rene) Lyons and Pam (Doug) Deck, who carried her values and warmth into their own lives.  She adored her cherished grandchildren, Alex Lyons, Josh Lyons, Connor Deck, Logan Deck, and Cassidy (Arlen) Kerst, each of whom filled her heart with pride and happiness.  The arrival of her beloved great-granddaughter, Elliott Kerst, brought an extra sparkle to her life, and Bonnie cherished every moment spent with her.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Bonnie will forever remember her resilience, her laughter, and her enduring love.  She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 55 years, Alvin J. Lyons, Jr.; her parents, Goldie and Edward Wall; and her brother, Thomas Srock.  They welcomed her with open arms, and their spirits continue to inspire those she left behind.

Family and friends are invited to honor Bonnie's memory and celebrate her extraordinary life at the visitation to be held on February 24, 2026, at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services P.A., located at 1 2nd Ave S.W., Glen Burnie, MD.  The first visitation will be from 2 PM to 4 PM, followed by another session from 6 PM to 8 PM, where all are welcome to share their fond memories of this remarkable woman who touched so many lives.
