Billy Rogers Thompson, 85 of Glen Burnie passed away on November 16, 2023. Billy was born on October 25, 1938 in Lumberton, North Carolina to the late Daniel and Eva (Hunt) Thompson. He retired as a railroad conductor for Conrail after 36 years of dedicated service and served as former Local Chairman of the United Transportation Union. Billy was the Administrator of the Glen Burnie Moose Lodge #1456 for several years where he spent many enjoyable hours with friends and colleagues. Billy also enjoyed watching westerns on television and listening to his favorite, Hank Williams. He was an avid Baltimore sports fan, loving both the Orioles and Ravens. In his free time Billy loved spending time on the water boating, crabbing and fishing, especially for white perch. Later in life, Billy enjoyed returning to North Carolina to visit family members and friends. Most of all, Billy considered his greatest accomplishments being called husband, father, grandfather and friend.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Thompson, brothers Dick Thompson and Daniel Thompson, Jr.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Beverly Thompson; his devoted children, Shari Fiorani (Joe), Steven Thompson and Stacey Robinson (Craig); his cherished grandchildren Grady Davis III, Lindsay Marshall, Ryan and Rachael Robinson, and six great-grandchildren, Madison, Ethan, Jace, Gracie, Brooklyn and Graelyn. Also survived by sisters Cindy Sisson, Dorothy Ann Johnson and Betty Thompson.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Friday, November 24th from 11-1 pm. A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel on Friday, November 24th at 1 PM. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
