Betty Gale Laney

Betty Gale Laney, 83 of Glen Burnie passed away on April 18, 2024. Betty was born on June 2, 1940 in Wytheville, Virginia to the late Seldon and Darcus Snow.

Betty led a remarkable life filled with diverse interests and passions. She found joy in the simple things, such as line dancing, gardening, crafting, solving puzzles, camping and exploring new destinations. Her adventurous spirit took her on numerous journeys, creating cherished memories along the way. One of Betty's greatest talents was her musical ability. She delighted in playing the piano, banjo, and guitar, sharing her love for music with those around her. In addition to her hobbies, Betty enjoyed the quiet moments spent listening to audio books, expanding her knowledge and imagination with each story she encountered.

Betty leaves behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and love that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Wendell B. Laney, Jr.; her devoted children, Robin Laney (Mary), Loretta Metzger (Steven), and Wayne Laney; her grandchildren, Daniel Boss, Ryan Laney, Andrew Metzger and Tyler Metzger; her great-grandchildren, Dane Laney, Faith Laney, and Austin Metzger.

While we mourn the loss of Betty from our lives, we also celebrate the beautiful memories she has left us with. May she rest in peace knowing that she touched countless lives with her kindness and grace.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2^nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Tuesday, April 23rd from 10-12 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel. Family and friends are invited to join the family following the Celebration of Life Service for a funeral luncheon at Crabtowne USA, 1500 Crain Highway S., Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
