Betty Ann Galloway

January 25, 1932 — August 28, 2023

 

Betty Ann Galloway (nee Martin), 91, currently of Schellsburg, PA (previously of Severn, MD), passed away peacefully at home on August 28, 2023. She was born in Martinsburg, WV to the late John and Louise Martin.  Betty married the love of her life Richard at age 17 and while Richard was serving in the U.S Army they spent many years traveling with their 4 children when stationed in Alabama, New Jersey, Mississippi, New Mexico, Texas, and Okinawa, Japan.  Betty loved the Lord and was a devoted wife and mom. Her beautiful smile could light up a room and she loved entertaining and hosting dinners for her family and making sure no one left hungry.  Betty worked as a telephone operator in her early years and then worked as a bookkeeper at the family-owned businesses for over 20 years in Fells Point, Maryland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Wallace Galloway; son, Richard “Rick” Wallace Galloway, brother, John Martin and sister in-law Gail, sisters Mary Blucher, Wanda and brother in-law James Knickman; brother in-law Roland William Galloway, Clifton Wallace Galloway; and sister-in-law Helen Lusby.

 

Betty is survived by her loving children, Clifton Galloway and his wife, June, Roland Galloway and his wife, Stacey, Denise Fitzhugh and her husband, Gregg, dear daughter-in-law Marguerite Galloway; cherished grandchildren, Christine Smith, Aaron Galloway, Candice Dorsey, Rachel Deitz, Austin Fitzhugh, Kerri Weaver, Jacob Fitzhugh, Amanda Olup, Bethany Hershberger and Ana Beard; beloved great-grandchildren, Delaney, Reagan, Ethan, Ezra, Javan, Maverick, Andrew, Logan, Gracie, Stella, Jackson, Paige, Lena and Liam. She will also be missed by her surviving in-laws James Blucher, Ronald Galloway, Theresa Galloway, and Lola Galloway; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews and friends of the family.

 

     The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A.,  2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy), on Friday., September 8th, from 11 AM – 1 PM.    Interment MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 203 Drive in Lane, Everett, PA 15537
