Anna Lee Hicks, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 97 in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Born on January 31, 1928, in Coeburn, Virginia to the late Floyd and Maude Babb. Anna lived a rich and fulfilling life, dedicated to her family and career.

Anna's professional journey was marked by her long and distinguished tenure at the C&P Telephone Company, where she devoted 36 years of service before retiring. After her retirement, she embraced her entrepreneurial spirit, establishing her own accounting business in 1982. She was known for her dedication, attention to detail, and ability to forge lasting relationships with her clients.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Anna was a member of the Eastern Star, demonstrating her commitment to community service and support for those in need. Her interests included yachting and boating, activities she enjoyed immensely. Anna also had a passion for shopping, often finding joy in discovering new treasures and sharing them with loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Donna Bush and Kenneth Hicks, along with her cherished grandchildren Jennifer Butler, Laura Vanderlip (Andrew), and Donnie Hicks. Anna took great pride in her legacy, which continues through her great-grandchildren: Samantha, Emily, Benjamin, and Madison. Her love for her family was a hallmark of her life and a source of immense joy and fulfillment.

Anna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald R. Hicks, as well as her brother, Worley Babb, and sister, Shirley Hendershot. She leaves behind three sisters, Violet Price, Lillie Lowman, and Vera Fish, who will fondly remember her spirit and the bonds they shared.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services located at 1 2nd Ave SW, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. A Funeral Service will be held the following day, on Friday, May 23, 2025, beginning at 11:30 AM in the funeral home chapel.

Anna Lee Hicks will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, service, and joy will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
