Mike Hoerst

Michael Vincent Hoerst, 63, of Glen Burnie, passed away suddenly on November 8, 2017.

Mike was born on March 18, 1954 in Arlington, VA the second of five children born to the late William Valentine and Ruth Ervena (Wonning) Hoerst. He was raised in Bladensburg where he graduated from Bladensburg High School. He worked for the Department of Defense as a Procurement Manager before retiring. While square dancing Mike met his future wife Rebecca "Becky" Renee Fall the whole evening the caller gave the instructions to hug your partner and they have been hugging ever since, they were married on December 18, 1999. Mike loved wood working, finances, Euchre, spending time with family, and if Solitaire was an Olympic sport he would have a gold medal! Mike was a strong man, and was devoted to his family and friends. He did whatever he could to help those around him and made all his decisions based upon practicality. He had a zeal for life and enjoyed being active and on the go and never stayed in one place to long.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jeanne D'Amato; mother-in-law, Aurora Fall; and sister-in-law Rhonda Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Hoerst; children, Greg Hoerst, Bob Righter, and Mary Roberts; siblings, Julia Walke, James Hoerst, and Susan Strine; father-in-law/ buddy, Robert Fall; sister-in-law's, Nina Fall, Rose Wall, Gina Moreno; a good friend/neighbor Mike; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW, (at Crain Hwy), Glen Burnie, on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM for a visitation. A Celebration of Life for Mike will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 16, 2017.
