Mae Mears

Mae Brown Mears, 87, of Glen Burnie, passed away on May 1, 2018 at Somerford Place in Annapolis. She was born in Melfa, Virginia, seventh out of 12 children. A farmer's daughter, she worked at a young age on the farm where she cultivated a strong work ethic. She graduated from Central High School in 1946. After graduation, she married the love of her life, Walter Gordon Mears on September 21, 1947. Mae worked in retail for 25 years at her daughter's business, Shoreline Seafood. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping, cooking and having fun. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter; and her siblings, William Brown, Virginia Ward, Charles Brown, Mary Frances Beach, Minnie Sue Marzullo and Margaret Julia Brown.
Mae is survived by her devoted daughters, Deborah Storm (Donald) and Valerie Mears; loving grandchildren, Daniel Jamison Palmer (Taffy Sheree), Autumn Nicole Schneider, Ryane Lynn Schneider, Christina Lynn Brucksch (James), Melissa Ann Storm and Brandy Lynn McBee (Christopher); cherished great-grandchildren, Paul Thomas Smith V, Brayden Tyler Comegys, Camryn Nicole Comegys, Landon Gregory Hardesty, Skylar Mae McBee, Alexis Nicole Gowran, Colton Ryan Jacobs and Jordyn Leigh Rieger; and her dear siblings, Martha Custis, Dorothy Merritt, Newton Brown (Peggy) and Norvil Brown (Peggy). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave SW (at Crain Hwy.) on Friday, May 4th, from 12:30-1:30 PM. A graveside service will immediately follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
