Edith J. Zachman, 93, of Baltimore passed away peacefully on October 3, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Edith was born on December 29, 1924 in Baltimore to the late Vaughn and Ruth (Worthington) Zimmerman. She worked in several industries from warehouses, A&P Bakery, and with her son at Colleen's Corner. She was very crafty and crocheted beautiful pieces that her family will cherish for years to come. She always kept her mind sharp with word searches, reading, and keeping up with technology even having her own Facebook at 93. She was loving and will be missed by her family. She savored life and lived each day passionately, and independently.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Ronald Vanskiver; her daughter, Lou Jean Luttrell; 1 grandson; and siblings, Von, Alvin, Jack, Janet, Virginia and Eugene Zimmerman.

She is survived by her children, Janet Shanks, Sandra Johnson (Charles), and Albert Vanskiver (Colleen);12 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Zimmerman; sister, Ruth Meyers; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, S.W. (at Crain Hwy) in Glen Burnie, on Friday, October 5th from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 6th, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
