Doris Patricia Pettie

September 15, 1929 ~ July 28, 2018 (age 88)
On July 28, 2018, Doris Patricia Pettie, 88, of Severn, passed away at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena. She was born on September 15, 1929, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Mae and Michael Detorie. She worked at Westinghouse for 38 years as an expeditor. Doris was always on the go, but she especially enjoyed bowling, dancing, playing cards and board games.
Doris is survived by her loving children, Sharon Walden and her husband Harold, Al Pettie and his wife Vickie, Steve Pettie and his wife Maryann, and Sandy Watkins and her husband Ron; her seven cherished grandchildren, and fourteen beloved great-grandchildren; her dear siblings, Joni Detorie, Michael Detorie Jr., and Kathy Campo; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by significant other of 38 years, Bob Norris, and her two sisters, Pauline Delost and Sally Szuba.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Tuesday, July 31st, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, August 1st, at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Doris' name may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County at aacspca.org.
