Martha Marafioti

September 29, 1928 — December 7, 2014

Martha Marafioti, a long-time teacher in the Baltimore area, passed away on December 7, 2014. She was a Spanish language teacher for 32 years at The Catholic High School of Baltimore, where she inspired many young women in their language studies. In the mid 1960s, Martha emigrated from her native Cuba, eventually settling in the Baltimore area with her beloved late husband Dominic. She was the sister of the late Jorge B. Ramirez, M.D. and sister in law of the late Adriana Ramirez. She is survived by her beloved son Martin and his spouse Philip; her nieces and nephews Adriana, Jorge, Rosa Maria, and Peter, and their spouses and children; her aunt Bebita; and many loving cousins in Miami, New Jersey, and Los Angeles; her beloved goddaughter Lisa Leppado; and many dear friends and family members.
The family deeply appreciates the caring staff at Heartlands Assisted Living in Severna Park and Manor Care Nursing Home in Ruxton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Catholic High School of Baltimore, 2800 Edison Highway, Baltimore, MD 21213.
