Marquetta Ann Wallace, 69, of Greenville, TX passed away on March 18, 2012 after a long illness. Marquetta was born in 1942 in Alba, Texas. She was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and later the Texas Eastern School of Nursing. Marquetta worked as a nurse for more than 30 years. She served as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Air Force as a nurse. Marquetta was a volunteer for hospice. She enjoyed reading, gardening, dancing and shopping. She also liked animals and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James Wallace; step-grandson, Daniel Wells; and her niece, Rebecca Lovelady. She is survived by her daughter Stevanne Ellis of Baltimore, MD; five step-children, Jamie Swagerty and husband Guinn of Terrell, TX, Troy Wallace of TX, Bryant Wallace and wife Saundra of Spring, TX, Eva Green and husband Barry of Greenville, TX, and Chad Wallace of Greenville, TX; 10 step-grandchildren; 16 step great-grandchildren; four siblings, Bobbie Lovelady and husband Mel of Tyler, TX, Landa Rennels and husband Logan of Bryan, TX, Juan Harrison and wife Sherri of Sulphur Springs, TX, and Lynn Harrison of Tyler, TX; and 8 nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were handled by Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A. in Glen Burnie, Maryland. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville, TX.
